A PRIOR Victoria's Secret employee has claimed that the chain's staff often go about measuring people's bra sizes wrong.
Apparently, it all boils down to one crucial step that they're missing.

"Measurements are never the firm answer. Measurements are just a starting point," former Victoria's Secret employee Sophie Lavrenz explained in a video.
"And I think that a lot of employees don't ever get informed of this."
Lavrenz said that in order for the bra measurements to be done correctly, you can't simply just measure the customer.
Rather, you have to measure the customer, get them in the fitting room, and go from there until they're in a bra size that they're happy with and feel supported in.
She continued: "You can't just get measured and go gung-ho.
"Most people are wearing the wrong size. Most people were measured and just told 'oh this is your size'."
She re-emphasized that you have to try the bra on to know your exact size, as no one is ever measured exactly correct, per her knowledge.
The Sun has reached out to Victoria's Secret for comment but has yet to hear back.
People flocked to the comments detailing their supposed experiences with the retail store.
"I’m a G and they tried to tell me I was a D," one person wrote.
"A VS employee tried to shove me into a 36DD when I’m really a 32H. Why wouldn’t they just tell me they didn’t carry my size? I wouldn’t be mad," someone else said.
"I used to work at VS too, they always told me to tell customers it’s not an 'exact science' but it’s a great starting point," a third person added.
"True, they told me I was a D!! I’m a small C. I was wearing a push-up the day I was 'measured'," another viewer mentioned.
"Victoria's Secret also carries a very small selection of sizes and they want you to buy their product so they 'make it work'," a final person claimed.

The Truth About Victoria's Secret's Bra Sizes
It is not necessarily uncommon for consumers shopping for the perfect bra to be of different cup sizes, varying on which store they're doing their shopping. However, it is uncommon for Victoria's Secret workers to size many of their customers with one or two bra sizes from what they walked in wearing, making many f their visitors question their true size.
It is also no surprise that the lingerie company charges more for their larger size bras, according to Racked. The mega retailer has always charged $2 to $3 more per item, and people everywhere just aren't buying the rationale that it costs more to make larger sizes.
As Styleite writer Ashley Hoffman notes, via Racked, "This is the message, 'You're less welcome here, you're kind of a hassle, so we'll take more money from you if you want to attempt to look as smoldering as our standard sizes.' They're a bunch of self-esteem pickpockets."
For years, people who were a D cup size or bigger were penalized for how their bodies were looked and ultimately caught on to the message that Victoria's Secret has supposedly attempted to send. Many have called the company out for the lack of inclusivity over the years, causing a bit of drama for the company, (via Insider). But for many bra buyers, it would be nice to know how exactly Victoria's Secret sizing actually works.
